We have set a date. It's been set for a while now. But soon we will be sending these postcards to remind you.
I was all set to order some fancy shmancy save-the-date cards online, but thought better of it when I saw the high price. I designed these in Photoshop using some of our favorite photo booth strips from over the years.
I think they look pretty good. The back of the card looks good, too. But you can wait 'til it comes in the mail to see that.
This is us, enjoying some lobster on the Cape, in a house that we love (thanks, Randall family).
In five-or-so months, we'll be getting married in another house that we love.
This past summer, we were lucky enough to find The Dream Away Lodge in Becket, MA. At first, we didn't even think of it as a possibility for a wedding venue. But the more we thought about it, the more plausible it seemed.
Rumored to have been a speakeasy (and even a brothel!) back in the day, the Dream Away is on the side of the October Mountain on fifty acres of beautiful land. The restaurant serves really good food, and the decor is full of art and knick-knacks and mismatched everything. Many other people loved this place over the years, among them Bob Dylan, Arlo Guthrie, and Allen Ginsberg.
Unfortunately, the lodge offers no lodging. But don't worry! We've reserved blocks at hotels in nearby Lenox, MA, where there is a lot of fun stuff to do. More information about these will be made available soon.
Thanks for checking in! Remember to email us at saremywedding@gmail.com if you have any questions.
We're still in the beginning stages of our planning process, but we've finally decided on a date. It looks like May 22, 2010, is the day we will get hitched.
This blog will track our planning progress and will be available as a reference for directions, location information, lodging, registries, etc.
More details are forthcoming and will be posted on this site as they are determined. Feel free to drop us a line at our official wedding email: saremywedding@gmail.com.
Since our first kiss on the corner of Pleasant Street and Randolph Place, we've spent the better part of five years together. Now we're making it official.
